Questions & Answers

What is the total footprint required for an Intrinergy installation and how can the aesthetic appearance of the renewable energy facility not detract from the current image of my facility?

Space requirements vary considerably depending on the amount and form (steam, gas, or electricity) of energy supplied as well as the type of fuel feedstock used. As an example, an installation supplying 50,000 lbs/hr of steam would require approximately 10,000 square feet for all equipment and fuel storage. However that same facility can be reduced to nearly 5,000 feet through the elevation of equipment and different fuel storage arrangements. Additionally, Intrinergy has the flexibility to divide the total footprint into separate parcels and can adjust the aesthetic appearance as needed, creating a two or three-sided structure built in accordance with existing plant architecture.

What is the performance reliability of energy from Intrinergy?

Intrinergy can demonstrate 99%+ planned availability on energy supply from the equipment we install. Individual facility data and site visits may be acquired upon expression of further interest and upon signature of a third-party NDA.

What amount of biomass feedstock material would be required to be trucked into an Intrinergy facility located at my company?

Intrinergy manages all the feedstock supply for our energy facilities. The amount of biomass feedstock brought into a site is dependent upon energy demand of the customer and the particular energy density of the biomass being used by Intrinergy. For example, a 40,000 lbs/hr installation using woody biomass as fuel would require approximately 6 truckloads per day to supply energy for a 3-shift plant. Intrinergy can also often use biomass materials generated by our customer's current processes, thereby reducing the flow of inbound material further.

Describe the permitting process for an Intrinergy renewable energy facility at my business.

Intrinergy assumes responsibility for obtaining the proper environmental permits for the installation of the renewable energy facility, and our team of experts are experienced and prepared to obtain the required permits to begin delivering renewable energy to your business. In some instances, Intrinergy will require the cooperation of the customer to develop a permit that is consistent with the customer's current air permitting situation. Generally, the positive environmental impact of an Intrinergy installation minimizes the regulatory barriers and permitting can be a simple formality in many cases. Intrinergy will gladly review the permitting requirements for any state that is home to one of your facilities.

Who is responsible for all operational and maintenance activities, and what frequency of downtime will be required for maintenance activity?

Intrinergy will own, operate, and maintain all associated equipment. Routine maintenance (greasing pulleys and bearings) will not require equipment downtime. Boiler maintenance will be performed as appropriate in conjunction with the customer's scheduled shutdowns.
