Case Studies
In late 2007, Intrinergy began supplying renewable energy to a Mississippi paper mill facility for its industrial processes. Today, Intrinergy's on-site energy unit supplies up to 50,000 lbs per hour of process steam to fuel the mill's operations, saving the company an estimated 30% of its previous fossil fuel operations. The Intrinergy facility will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20,000 tons per year—the equivalent of a year's worth of emissions for 3,600 cars or the annual electricity use of 2,600 households.
A New England based paper company will save in excess of $1.5 million in fuel costs plus an additional $700,000 in operations cost savings by switching to Intrinergy for its on-site energy demands. Intrinergy's on-site fluidized bed boiler unit will replace 90,000 lbs per hour of steam generated by fuel oil and 4MWs of electricity with biomass generated steam and electricity, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 100,000 tons.
Intrinergy is currently building renewable energy facilities in Belgium that will produce 4MWs of Electricity and heat for a local manufacturer. Operations for this facility are scheduled to begin in Q4 2009, and it will result in an estimated carbon reduction of 100,000 tons per year.
