Welcome to Intrinergy
Intrinergy helps manufacturers and owners of industrial facilities throughout the world reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions through the use of renewable energy.
Using advanced gasification and combustion technology to convert biomass and otherwise unused hydrocarbons (such as wood residues, industrial scrap, fiber residues, and alternative feedstock) into usable energy, Intrinergy helps its clients reduce their greenhouse gas emissions as well as landfill contributions, and lowers their demand for non-renewable fossil fuels.
For example, in late 2007, Intrinergy began supplying renewable energy to a Mississippi paper mill facility for its industrial processes. Today, Intrinergy’s on-site energy unit supplies up to 50,000 lbs per hour of process steam to fuel the mill’s operations, saving the company an estimated 30% of its previous fossil fuel operations. The Intrinergy facility will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20,000 tons per year—the equivalent of the annual emissions for 3,600 cars or the annual electricity use of 2,600 households.
Intrinergy operates similar facilities throughout North America and Europe. Servicing companies in an array of industries, including paper, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, steel, and aluminum, Intrinergy delivers on-site energy through proven and reliable biomass gasification, pyrolysis, and advanced combustion facilities that Intrinergy builds, owns, and operates; thus there is no upfront capital expenditure for Intrinergy’s clients. Clients pay only for the energy—in the form of steam and electricity —that they use from these units. In addition, Intrinergy’s expert engineers and staff handle all of the operation, fuel acquisition, and maintenance of the facilities.
